Our Story
Founded in 2022 by Lulu and Kai, Tadatuft started as a testament to the power of creativity in overcoming challenges. During the lockdown, as the world slowed down, we discovered tufting. What began a as a simple pastime to fill the quiet hours soon blossomed into a profound passion. With our backgrounds in design from the University of Leeds, we were captivated by the magic of turning our 2D drawings into tangible, tactile creations. We envisioned a place where people could gather, learn, and find solace in creation, just as we had during those uncertain times. Thus, Tadatuft was born in Leeds -- a city that had shaped our creative philosophies and where w felt a deep-rooted connection.
Our mission at Tadatuft is simple: we aim to create a welcoming space where you can discover a new skill, while enjoying quality time with friends and family. While tufting can be dusty and messy endeavour, there’s something satisfying in watching beauty emerge from the chaos. We invite you to join us, to weave your stories into artworks, and to discover the soothing rhythm of tufting, stitch by stitch.
By joining us, you are not only embarking on a creative venture but also promoting mental wellbeing in the community. With every booking at our studio, a portion of the proceeds is donated to Mental Health UK (registered charity number 1170815). Our commitment extends beyond the walls of our studio; it's about making a positive impact that resonates throughout our community and beyond. Join us at Tadatuft, where every stitch supports creativity and care.
